What is DOSTINEX?

Dosage and Directions:
Take this medication by mouth with or without food, usually twice a week or as directed by your doctor.
DOSTINEX Tablets are prescribed at a dose of 0.25 mg twice a week to begin treatment. Depending on the patient's blood prolactin level, the dosage can be increased by 0.25 mg twice weekly up to 1 mg twice weekly. A cardiovascular evaluation should be undertaken before starting medication, and echocardiography should be considered to check for valvular disease.
To allow the physician to analyze the patient's response to each dosage level, dosage increase should not occur more frequently than every four weeks.
